He arrived believing he would marshal (on a mountain bike) but due to a surplus of volunteers was convinced to swop to a later date and decided to race…
And he won…staying ahead of the Scratchman Paul Cullinan he blitzed the Filterbeds course winning by a margin of two and a half minutes.
